About Kollam Rural Police
Kollam Rural Police comes within the Jurisdiction of Thiruvananthapuram Police Range which comes under Southern Police Zone. The force headed by a Superintendent of Police of IPS cadre designated as District Police Chief, comprises of Deputy Superintendent of Polices, Inspectors of Police, Woman Inspector of Police, Sub Inspectors of Police, Woman Sub Inspectors of Police, Additional and Assistant Sub Inspectors, Senior Civil Police Officers, Woman Senior Civil Police Officers, Civil Police Officers and Woman Civil Police.
| Kollam Rural Police District was formed as per the Government Order No 32/2011/Home Dated 05.02.2011 and came into force on 28th February 2011. This Police District was formed by bifurcating Kollam District into Kollam City Police and Kollam Rural Police. This Police District is blessed with marvelous geographical features and important historical events. The famous Maha Ganapathy Temple is situated near the District Police Office Kollam Rural. |
Kollam Rural Police is entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining law & order in the rural precincts of the district, prevention of law infringement, prevention and detection of crime, traffic management and various citizen centric services for the people of Kollam Rural area comprising Kottarakkara and Punalur subdivisions, Kottarakkara, Punalur, Pathanapuram and Parts of Kunnathoor and Kollam Taluks having Revenue Villages come within the jurisdiction of Kollam Rural Police. Kollam Rural Police is entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining law & order in the rural precincts of the district, prevention of law infringement, prevention and detection of crime, traffic management and various citizen centric services for the people of Kollam Rural area comprising Kottarakkara, Punalur and Sasthamcotta subdivisions and 20 police stations including Cyber Crime Police Station. Kottarakkara, Punalur, Pathanapuram and Parts of Kunnathoor and Kollam Taluks having Revenue Villages come within the jurisdiction of Kollam Rural Police. Our Motto The motto of the force is Mridhu Bhave Dhrida Kruthye which means Soft in Temperament, Firm in Action in Sanskrit.
