District Crime Branch (C-Branch) is headed by a Deputy Superintendent of Police is functioning for investigation of Major Crime cases reported in Kollam Rural. District C-Branch will be entrusted with the investigation of seasonal cases reported from the District or those cases in which allegation have been raised by the parties concerned about investigation carried out by Local Police Stations. The Strength of District Crime Branch will be specially chose by the District Police Chief taking into account the proven skills of officers and personnel in the investigation of cases on their professional excellences. The Deputy Police Superintendent C-Branch also acts as Nodal officer of Several Projects like Student Police Cadet Project, Janamaithri Police Project, Traffic & E Challan Project, , Vanitha Cell, Special Juvenile Police Unit, Aparajitha Project and Transgender Help. He is also the Nodal officer of special cases like Money Laundering Cases, Lottery Cases, Missing of Women and Children, Abroad Cases, Anti-Piracy Cases, DANSAF-NDPS Cases and Anti-Human Trafficking Cases.
