District Special Branch

The Kollam Rural District Special Branch was formed at the time of the formation of the Kollam Rural Police District in 2011. The District Special Branch is the intelligence organization of the District Police Chief. This branch is headed by a Deputy Superintendent of Police. District Special Branch has an important role in the structure of the District Police organization. This branch collects confidential information in advance regarding the activities of various organizations. The main responsibility of the District Special Branch is to collect and supply information to District Police Chief on all Political and Communal matters and on all activities affecting or likely to affect law and order or security, especially relating to Political and Communal, so the district Special Branch is considered as the eyes and ears of District Police Chief. This branch also deals with character verification, Passport verification and recommendation for various licenses.
